a unique 2-player game

Our vision

Tiny White Stones is a game where being two is the initial plot, the solution and the problem. We never know what's going to happen between the players...

We are convinced that playing for two is not only activating mechanisms at the same time or acting in a coordinated way. It's also sharing an adventure and creating special links between players. Tiny White Stones is the result of this reflection.

LEARN TO TRUST

In the forest, the two kids don't always see the same thing. How can you convince your partner to trust you and walk on an invisible bridge? Will you sucessfully go through an invisible trap, just relying on your partner's instructions?

FEEL THAT YOU NEED HIM

The siblings share one life for the two of them. If one dies, the other one dies too. And if they run too far from each other, they start wasting away... Their only hope to survive is to stay nearby.

Despites of this imperative need to stay close, we often ask the players to separate from one another to open the way. They experiment the fear of being separated, and then the relief of reunion. The players are free to play with danger: hide themselves to frighten their sibling, race to be the first to catch a bonus, play tricks... No one said kids are good kids!

HELP EACH OTHER TO SURVIVE

You're not alone in this forest. Some lost kids hanging aroung, lonely, eager for love, will attack you and try to take your place.

In front of this danger, you 'll have to understand and rely on the other player. The only way for you to avoid falling prey to the lost kids is to make good decisions... together! Know when to sacrifice yourself, when to separe from each other, when to protect each other.

AN ADULT FAIRY TALE

Tiny White Stones doesn't take place in a fairy tale universe by chance. Fairy tales are a great source of universal references. When mutual comprehension and cooperation are crucial, sharing common references is a great tool for understanding each other. Fairy tales also brings us back to our childhood fears. When the players embody two weak characters, with no weapon to fight a hostile environment, staying close to their sibling goes further than the game!

We brought a big care to the universe. You'll find many references to famous fairy tales, including the tiny white stones from Hansel and Gretel or Little Thumb. The design of the forest borrows techniques to great classic fairy tale illustrators like Gustave Doré.

Kids know that you should not come close to a witch's house but... are you a good kid?
